PhD position "Functional proteome biology of solid tumors" (m/f/d)

We are a multi-disciplinary team that covers topics from mass spectrometry-based proteomics to bioinformatics to functional cell biology. Most of our projects focus on a better understanding of the proteome biology of solid tumors with the aim of risk stratification and exploring of novel therapeutic avenues. We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student (m/f/d) to strengthen our team. We are particularly interested to strengthen our expertise for in vitro functional studies to mechanistically underpin proteomic findings. The laboratory is fully equipped for functional cell biology, molecular biology, and protein biochemistry. Expertise in these areas is considered a plus. Throughout the PhD, there are ample training opportunities in targeted and explorative proteomics via LC-MS/MS, various chromatographic methods, manual and robotic sample preparation, and bioinformatic omics-data analysis. Further methodological areas include nanoscale proteomics and MALDI-imaging / spatial proteomics.

We search for a candidate with a life science (e.g. biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, chemistry) degree who has good scientific writing skills and fluency in English. The candidate should have experience in one or more of the following areas: functional cell biology, molecular biology, proteomics. We expect willingness to acquire competences in each of these fields. Thus, an open-minded and proactive work attitude, a strong interest in translational research, and good problem-solving skills are essential.

The position (TV-L 65 %) is available as of now for 3.5 years.
