Tasks & responsibilities

• In your new role as Head of Laboratory you are leading the Virus Test Laboratory within Biopharma Quality Control Services/Virology and Contamination Detection.
• You are accountable for running analytical methods according to all applicable regulations for product and cell bank release testing with focus on adventitious and endogenous virus testing .
• Additionally, you are responsibility for the product-specific method qualification/validation in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g. pharmacopoeias, ICH).
• It is your task to represent the Virus Test group in regulatory, BI internal and customer audits and project/product team meetings as well as in exchanges with customers.
• Apart from that, you support regulatory dossiers by authorship of several module 3 quality chapters, and you assure compliance with regulatory authorities.
• You identify relevant new technologies and equipment and you are responsible for the development, transfer, and validation of scientific state-of-the-art methods in the field.

• Doctoral degree, master’s degree, or diploma degree with major focus on Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields with long-term experience in biopharmaceutical industry
• In-depth knowledge of virology and cell biology
• Strong leadership skills and teamwork orientation
• Experience in quality control or analytical departments with knowledge of quality standards (GLP/GMP) and international regulatory guidelines
• Ability to organize and manage complex, cross-functional projects and programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
