As the Sales Development Manager for Infectious Diseases Molecular Diagnostic (MDx) products, you will cover a key position linking the territory sales teams with global departments such as Medical Affairs, Marketing and Regulatory. You will create and implement regional strategic positioning actions in direct and distributions markets, opening new market niches, presenting the added value of the Infectious Diseases MDx product portfolio, following up local marketing actions etc, having a 360 degree view of the Infectious Diseases business in the region.
Strategy: Development and implementation of Infectious Disease portfolio strategy through specific territory plans and sales teams within ER2I region.
Sales Revenues/Budgets: Meet/exceed sales targets by executing plans through the local MDx teams. Increasing sales of all QIAGEN products in the Portfolio Business Team by aligning all sales functions i.e. consumables/specialists/ instrumentation and developing tactical plans to maximize revenues. Monitor and manage sales and expense budgets in the assigned regions. Validate successful selling channels, processes and opportunities.
Planning/Forecasting: Responsible for the development/agreement and monitoring of annual sales targets, key performance indicators and revenue forecasts.
Expertise: Acquire and maintain knowledge and possess a clear understanding of technologies and validated field experience for Portfolio products and market segments.
Communication: Organisation of meetings/communication channels to ensure effective communication across business departments. Maintain and develop relationships with key customers, KOLs, partners and all internal stakeholders.
Business/Markets: Drive and initiate development of new business opportunities and lead projects for any current or future national screening programs for Portfolio to be implemented in the above countries. Increase number of strategic partnerships with KOLs and stakeholders such as public/government affairs and develop lobbying strategies and execution to drive support for new standards of care and gain policy and funding commitments.
In particular: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, KOLs. Develop and implement activities to help QIAGEN gain early access to market information and intelligence. Public/government affairs and lobbying programmes if necessary. Manage public health stakeholders and decision makers.
Maintain and monitor the market dynamics (market projections and competitive intelligence). Involved in the product development process and market segment roadmaps to ensure direct marketability. Assess new market opportunities. Define factors influencing markets and feedback. Communicate prioritized opportunities and needs to internal QIAGEN teams for product development. Provide early intelligence and market input. Collaborate with GPM’s. Match product, pricing, positioning and market strategies to meet country public health needs. Guide QIAGEN operational needs for wide-scale test implementation in new and expanding markets.
- 5 to 7 years’ of sales experience with proven sales track record in Infectious Disease or Virus related healthcare products.
- Proven business successes in planning, implementation, taking products to market and execution of marketing strategy.
- Good network of key customers, KOLs and Scientists.
- Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong project management skills & proven leadership skills.

- Willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities and undertake challenging tasks and/or projects.
- Ability to work with several stakeholders in a structured and organized fashion.
- Team working spirit and ability.
- Willingness to travel across Eastern Europe, Russia, Iran & Israel (up to 50%)
- The position can be home-based from any QIAGEN European country
