Junior breeder (f/m/d) resistance breeding sugarbeet

We are looking to recruit at the next possible date an Assistant Breeder / Junior Breeder (f/m/d) for our resistance breeding sugarbeet group at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at our headquarters in Einbeck, Germany in full-time and unlimited. In this position you will work hand in hand with breeders and technical assistants to drive the develop of competitive sugarbeet varieties forward.Your field of activity - challenge meets responsibility:

• Planning, statistical analysis, interpretation and composition of trials for the selection of variety components
• Disease ratings and data analyses in yield and resistance trials
• Self-organized planning, conduction and selection by MABC/MAS projects for variety development
• Collaboration in the recombination planning and in line development
• Preparation of reports and presentations
• Take over own project responsibilities
• Collaboration in an international team of breeders, assistants, and technical staff

Bring in your potential:

• Completed university study in agricultural science, horticulture or related area (B.Sc./M.Sc.) with focus on plant breeding or qualified ATA with long year working experience including professional training in plant breeding
• Strong knowledge in practical plant breeding including molecular markers as well as planning, conduction and statistical analysis of experiments in field and greenhouse
• Strong communicative, organizational, and analytical skills and excellent team player
• Reliable, independent and trustable mode of working
• Very good knowledge in MS Office applications, i.e. Excel und Access, ideally first experiences with breeding software
• Fluency in English is mandatory, and a good knowledge of German is an advantage
• Willingness to travel at out-of-town sites (up to 15%)
• Driver’s license class B is prerequisite
