Research Scientist Molecular Phytopathology (all gender)

ID: 6561Your responsibilitiesDo you want to help shape things and contribute your knowledge of molecular phytopathology to a leading company? Then be our new molecular phytopathologist (all gender) of KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at our headquarter in Einbeck, Germany. The contract will be full-time and permanent.
As a member of the Department of Phytopathology, you will have the opportunity to further develop and expand the field of molecular phytopathology and integrate the latest methods. The focus is on the development, implementation and optimization of molecular pathogen essays.

• Expand the field of molecular phytopathology within the Department of Phytopathology
• Develop, implement and optimize molecular pathogen assays (e.g. diagnostics, race differentiation)
• Support in the establishment and implementation of resistance tests in the greenhouse and field
• Collaborate with breeding, production, agroservice, product and business management
• Maintain networks in the field of molecular phytopathology (national and international)

Bring in your strengths

• PhD degree in agricultural sciences, phytopathology, biology, or equivalent working experience
• In-depth expertise in the field of molecular phytopathology
• Very good knowledge in at least one of the phytopathological disciplines: mycology, virology, or nematology
• Work and leadership experience are of advantage
• The ability to analyze processes, design and implement projects across interfaces in diverse national and international teams
• Effective, customer-oriented communication and excellent teamwork skills
• Fluent English skills, basic knowledge of German is an advantage
