PostDoc - Monitoring Expert Environmental Exposure (m/f/d)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and monitor environmental monitoring studies according to international guidelines and in compliance with all relevant regulations
• Coordinate the internal preparation of these studies, the interpretation of their results and their use for regulatory purposes in close cooperation with internal stakeholders like experts from Environmental Exposure, Environmental Effects, Residue Analysis, Environmental Safety Assessment & Strategy, Stewardship
• Drive the use of data bases and digital workflows to collect, process and assess public monitoring data at global level, in close cooperation with internal stakeholders
• Develop and implement improvements in study protocols and workflows to support regulatory and business success
• Accurately assess and forecast the time and resources needed to complete the assigned studies and projects
• Develop monitoring-based experimental and regulatory strategies to establish the scientific and regulatory profiles of active ingredients and their metabolites in the area of Environmental Exposure and other areas in cross-functional and international teams
• Represent the company in meetings with authorities and in the scientific community
• Communicate and cooperate with internal stakeholders like experts from Environmental Exposure, Environmental Effects, Residue Analysis, Environmental Safety Assessment & Strategy, Stewardship as well as with external stakeholders and panels (e.g. industry associations, water companies, environmental authorities, NGOs)

WHO YOU ARE

• PhD in in the field of geohydrology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biology, environmental science, agricultural science, computational science or related
• Experience in a regulatory environment, ideally in the agrochemical industry, research institutes or academic environment as well as good understanding of environmental fate, analytical chemistry and environmental modelling
• Experience with water monitoring studies (including knowledge in subsurface hydrogeology and other issues such as site selection, context setting, connectivity, vulnerability analysis, well installation, water sampling according to GLP), additional experience with other types of monitoring programs is an advantage
• Experience with statistical data evaluation and processing of large data sets as well as open-minded to work in a modern e-data based environment, ideally experienced with establishing data bases
• Interested in and able to solve technical and scientific topics and to simplify complex tasks, competence to present and explain complex data and conclusions
• Excellent communication skills as well as interest and ability to work in international and interdisciplinary teams
• Drive for constant improvement and innovation and ability to inspire, to motivate and to support change in complex organizations
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken

This is a fixed-term contract for 24 months.
