Foundation Medicine is a US-based company dedicated to the task of making personalized cancer medicine part of clinical routine for the benefit of patients. Using advanced technologies, Foundation Medicine has developed diagnostic tests that record the most important genomic and molecular properties of tumors and link them to relevant scientific and medical findings. This aims to help oncologists determine the best possible treatment for each patient.
Foundation Medicine and Roche have maintained a comprehensive strategic partnership since 2015, which led to Foundation Medicine becoming part of the Roche group in 2018. As part of this commercial partnership, a next-generation sequencing lab was built in Penzberg. This lab serves as Foundation Medicine's strategic hub for commercial expansion into various European countries.
Foundation Medicine promotes a diverse, fast-paced and team-oriented environment, integrating laboratory science, cancer genetics and genomics, process data metrics and clinical data.

The Team

The position is based within the FMI Team in Penzberg, which currently consists of approx. 50 employees in various roles. Our mission is to prepare, sequence and analyze the tissue and blood samples of cancer patients in order to create a result report that allows the patients to receive personalized treatment. • You lead the accessioning team, carry out performance reviews and ensure that company goals are achieved
• Coordinating the tasks of the Accessioning Team, including assigning and managing roles and meeting schedules and deadlines
• Oversee the administration and updating of Standard Operating Instructions (SOPs)
• Cross-site and cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliance with the highest quality standards
• Full responsibility for the management of patient samples
• Documentation, initiation and investigation of process deviations
• Participation in biohazard, chemical, safety and other educational programs

Your Profile You will need to meet the following requirements for the position:

• You have a bachelor's degree (preferably with a scientific background)
• Alternatively, you have are a medical assistant (MFA), MTA, BTA or comparable with several years of practical experience in the biotechnological or routine diagnostics area
• You already have leadership experience as an "Inspiring Leader" who knows how to take along and motivate the employees of his organization
• You communicate openly and clearly, work in a structured and solution-oriented manner
• You are a reliable and responsible person, and you work carefully and precisely in a result and quality-oriented manner even under great time pressure
• You have excellent knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
