Do you want to help shape things and contribute your knowledge in plant tissue culture and developmental biology to a leading company? Then be our new Scientist (all gender) Plant Regeneration of KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at our headquarter in Einbeck, Germany. The contract will be full-time and permanent.

As a member of the R&D Department Plant Cell &Transformation Technologies, you will have the opportunity to further develop, being instrumental for the identification, development and implementation of state-of-the-art approaches and solutions to optimally support a competitive product or technology development for KWS crops and products.This will be in your responsibility:

• Actively screen for new developments and emerging technologies in the area of plant regeneration and cell-based assays and assess their future application at KWS while driving innovative approaches
• Develop and lead research programs that improves the regeneration capability of all KWS crops in a genotype independent manner, specifically based on modulation of plant developmental pathways
• Develop research programs to apply cell technologies for gene validation approaches
• Lead and manage a team of Technicians/Research Associates, enabling team members to grow in accordance with the Company competence model and talent management
• Manage team goals, prioritize duties to complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner, adapt approaches to match shifting demands
• Build and keep connections to the international expert community in the field of expertise and participate in respective scientific conferences or workshops
• Create an engaging climate, provide direction, delegate, remove obstacles, and distribute assignments maintaining dialogue regarding work and results

Bring in your strengths:

• PhD or equivalent qualification in bio science or one of the STEM disciplines
• Demonstrated science work experience in academia or industry
• High level of knowledge and expertise on plant regeneration, plant developmental biology and plant cell biology as well as deep knowledge in molecular biology and plant physiology
• Deep scientific understanding for qualified guiding, challenging and decision making, but also demonstrated ability to work as part of a team for collaborative success
• Demonstrated ability to recognize scientific or technological problems and directly contribute to problem solving and innovation to overcome obstacles
• Solid analytical skills, integration of scientific and non- scientific aspects into optimized and risk-balanced work packages
• Fluent English skills, basic knowledge of German is an advantage
