Our Data Analysis Group is looking for a
Data Analysis Software Developer (f/m/d) for Instrument SupportThe positionThe main focus of the position will be to build software solutions enabling analysis and visualisation of data generated at the European XFEL.
As part of the data analysis group you will:
- contribute to the development of data analysis software solutions for online and offline analysis
- collaborate with and support instrument scientists and user groups
- implement analysis and data visualisation solutions
- translate algorithms and procedures into high quality and high performance implementations
Requirements - BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar field
- At least 3 years of programming experience
- Solid experience with Python and/or C/C++
- Demonstrated experience with the design and development of software
- Strong communication (English is the official language) and collaboration skills
- Willingness to undertake shift work
The following are considered as assets:
- Experience in software versioning, testing and continuous integration
- Experience in software optimisation, especially for high performance computing
- Experience in working in a Linux environment
- Experience with visualisation and user interfaces
- Experience with data analysis/data science/data analytics
- Contribution to open source projects
- Experience with photon science and/or computational science
