THE POSITION We are looking for a new colleague to join our Investigative Toxicology Group at our largest R&D site in Biberach an der Riss.
As Project Expert - Investigative Toxicology you will provide nonclinical safety support mainly for Boehringer Ingelheim´s Research portfolio by developing and implementing project specific de-risking strategies. If you are open minded and want to work in an agile environment, apply now!

Tasks & responsibilities- In your new role, you represent the NDS Department in interdisciplinary R&D project teams.
- You generate Target Safety Assessments and develop as well as implement project specific de-risking strategies in close cooperation with other Scientific Experts.
- In addition, you provide and ensure scientific contribution to hypothesis generation and testing for mechanistic safety questions.
- You proactively support BI’s Research portfolio by ensuring timely generation of nonclinical safety data and expert safety input to key milestone presentations/ documents.
- As Project Expert, you develop and implement successful project strategies for nonclinical safety aspects under consideration of external requirements or benchmark projects ensuring a smooth transition from Research to Development phase.
- Furthermore, you ensure active collaboration and excellent interaction with R&D departments.
Requirements - PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Toxicology, Veterinary or Human Medicine. Alternatively, master´s degree with several years of professional experience, Certification as Toxicologist (e.g. DGPT, DABT) or equivalent
- Longtime professional experience as Toxicologist in pharmaceutical industry, preferably Investigative/ Discovery Toxicology
- Experience in interdisciplinary R&D project teams, preferably Research phase
- Agile, open, and creative approach to support exploratory and mechanistic questions
- High level of communication-, team- and organizational skills paired with a good amount of flexibility
