This position is located in Molecular Characterization, a department within Large Molecule Research, where we discover and develop novel therapeutic antibodies and next generation biologics. Our ambition is to deliver such molecules to patients with game-changing clinical benefits.

We are offering an opportunity for a Senior Associate (m/f/d) in the Mass Spectrometry Department to work with multidisciplinary teams of scientists dedicated to the in-depth characterization of complex biologics by the combination of physicochemical methods. You will be the bridge that fosters collaboration and innovation in the discovery of next generation biologics. This 10-month temporary position therefore offers the opportunity to interact with numerous functions within Roche to deliver novel medicines to patients.

• You will make a difference for the company by developing and applying mass spectrometry methods for the analysis of complex biopharmaceutical molecules
• Utilizing automated sample preparation workflows coupled to fast LC-MS methods is one of your tasks
• You will support interdisciplinary teams within the unit of Molecule Characterization
• The contribution to structural mass spectrometry investigations is also up to your hands
• You will be closely interacting and collaborating with scientists from protein analytics, bio-processing and data science in a cross-functional matrix
• The presentation of data internally and externally, as well as literature research will be part of your tasks

• Personally, you are a goal-oriented individual. You really have drive, an analytical mindset and motivation to achieve true excellence. Furthermore, you are interested and willing to perform wet lab experiments and eager to establish new techniques.
• You are a true team player, but capable of working independently where necessary. Ideally, you have experience in working in interdisciplinary and international teams.
• You are a good communicator, making sure your ideas and results are put on the table, and are happy to receive constructive feedback and learn from it
• Technically , you have finished your BSc/MSc degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular (cell) biology, biotechnology or a related field
• Prior experience in protein mass spectrometry (LC-MS) would be highly beneficial for the role; automated sample preparation workflows, structural mass spectrometry (e.g. HDX), or work with gene therapy approaches (e.g. AAVs) would be a plus
• Good English skills (written and spoken) complete your profile

This position is fixed-termed to 10 months.
