As Senior Scientist, you combine cutting-edge scientific expertise in immunology, in-vitro pharmacology, and cancer biology. Through hands-on work and collaboration, you bring new therapeutic concepts into the portfolio and help projects move forward towards development.

In the Cancer Immunology department within Discovery Research Germany, you actively contribute and leverage available resources and potentially lead a project to help bringing innovative approaches to clinics and to patients.

Tasks & responsibilities

• With your strong scientific expertise, you lead the identification and incorporation of new concepts or innovative approaches for the immunological treatment of cancer patients.
• Whilst maintaining a collaborative spirit with others you drive projects in the drug development pipeline forward.
• The interaction on- or across sites with stakeholders as well as the identification of external collaborations is also part of your new profile.
• Communicating information to key stakeholders with scientific rigor in a timely manner will be part of your responsibilities too.
• You continue to the development of scientific expertise credentials and drug discovery expertise while actively contributing to a strong scientific culture.
• Implementing state-of-the-art technologies in the department rounds up your profile.

• Doctoral degree in oncology, immunology, cell biology or a similar field with several years of postdoctoral and / or industry experience. Alternatively, Master’s degree with longtime expertise in the pharmaceutical industry
• Hands-on experience with relevant experimental methods (e.g. culture of immune primary cells, flow cytometry and common immunology / cell biology techniques, genome engineering, work with antibodies)
• Comprehensive understanding concerning cancer immunology with excellent technical skills, as demonstrated by a strong track record of independent research and peer-reviewed publications
• Ability to translate novel ideas into new therapeutics and / or to address scientific challenges with innovative, decision-driving approaches
• Felasa B or other animal work certifications are advantageous
