GLOBALG.A.P. is a trademark and a set of standards for good agricultural practices (G.A.P.). FoodPLUS GmbH is a limited liability cooperation registered in Cologne, Germany. It manages all company’s activities worldwide from standard setting through services for its partners, marketing, certification management to integrity and serves as legal entity to hold the international GLOBALG.A.P. and GGN (consumer label for GLOBALG.A.P. certified farms) copyrights.

For our Capacity Building Team we are looking for a Team Leader (m/f/d) in full-time (39 h/week) to hire immediately. The Capacity Building Team is responsible for the GLOBALG.A.P. Academy, training about 2.000 people every year on the GLOBALG.A.P. standard and related topics. Our activities form an integral part when working together with development organizations in projects to support farmers.

Technical tasks:

• Be responsible for the organizational, administrative, communication, and sales part of the GLOBALG.A.P. Academy (training development as such not included, done by another team)
• Ensure successful implementation of our newly registered trainer program (successor of the Farm Assurer Program)
• Take responsibility for capacity building projects with development aid organizations and NGOs
• Perform contract negotiations with external vendors and partners

Leadership tasks:

• Be accountable for your budget and present regular reports to the management
• Plan new positions, incl. staff selection and onboarding
• Execute feedback talks with team members
• Actively interact with other team leaders to assure operative exchange on business relevant activities
• Follow the guidelines for team leaders and the best leadership practices, live and incorporate our core values and be a role model to others

• University degree in a job-relevant field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in one of the following areas:
  • working for an academy, training institution or equivalent
  • designing and operating capacity building projects in developing and emerging countries
• Minimum 2 years of experience with managing employees
• Expertise in steering a business within a given turnover and cost frame
• Proficient in English (C1 level)
• High motivation to empower and develop staff along with a desire to actively impart knowledge
