Alvotech Germany (Juelich) is specialized on early research and development work and is the center of excellence for early development within the Alvotech family. The analytical team comprises of 18 employees working on early biosimilar development of a diverse portfolio of biotherapeutics including monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, and other novel biological modalities.

Scientist Functional Assay (m/f/d)Overview of RoleThe scientist is responsible for the development, qualification and implementation of cell-based assays and binding assays to support the characterization of biosimilars in the Alvotech pipeline. This position will provide laboratory support and contribute data to support analytical development, cell line development and upstream process development , including stability, comparability and analytical similarity studies using flow cytometry, microscopy, ELISA, reporter assays, effector function assays (ADCC/CDC) or cell signaling assays. The candidate should have had initial experience in assay development and have knowledge of cell culture techniques.
Scope and responsibility:- Performance, documentation and evaluation of experiments for method development, method transfer and method qualification
- Execute studies, analyze and interpret experimental results
- author/reviewer for study plans, reports, SOPs and deviations
- Mammalian cell culture and handling
- Troubleshoot assays to ensure high quality control
- Present data at group meetings
- Taking care of laboratory equipment, performing instrument maintenance and qualification
Job Requirements: - M.Sc./Diploma in biology or a relevant scientific discipline with 1- 5 years scientific or industry experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology)
- experience in relevant analytical methods like cell-based and bioassays (e.g. potency, apoptosis, proliferation assays, reporter-gene assays, ADCC, CDC) as well as immunological methods (e.g. ELISA, FACS, immunohistochemistry)
- Mammalian cell culture and sterile culture technique experience is a must.
- Attention to detail and precise work habits, especially accurate pipetting skills
- Engaging personality, very organized work style, excellent communication and presentation skills, team player
- Good command of English, basic knowledge of German
