The position is part of the Molecular Technologies team of
KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at our headquarters in
Einbeck, Germany. We would like to hire you permanently and full-time.
This will be in your responsibility:- Develop and lead research projects to modulate plant developmental pathways and speed up the breeding process
- Manage project goals, prioritize duties to complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner, adapt approaches to match shifting demands
- Actively screen for new developments and emerging technologies in the areas of flowering control and/or double haploid induction and assess their future application at KWS while driving innovative approaches
- Build and keep connections to the relevant internal and external expert community and participate in scientific conferences or workshops
- Lead and manage a team of Technicians/Research Associates, enabling team members to grow in accordance with the Company competence model and talent management
- Create an engaging climate, provide direction, delegate, remove obstacles, and distribute assignments maintaining dialogue regarding work and results
Bring in your strengths: - PhD or equivalent qualification plus first additional professional experience in a bio science discipline
- High level of knowledge and expertise in the areas of flowering control and/or chromosome structure and function
- Deep knowledge in molecular biology and plant physiology
- Demonstrated ability to recognize scientific or technological problems and directly contribute to problem solving and innovation to overcome obstacles
- Solid analytical skills, integration of scientific and non- scientific aspects into optimized and risk-balanced work packages
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently setup and expand research networks, foster scientific exchange and cooperation
- Pro-active and open-minded work attitude, very strong communication skills, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team for collaborative success
- Being open and curious to broaden the scope and to actively reach out to new scientific areas
- Fluent English skills, basic knowledge of German is an advantage
