THE POSITIONDevelop novel bioprocesses for our NBE pipeline with your team. You will work at the exciting interface between development and production. The main task is to develop and characterize a new robust, commercial process. Once approved this process will be used to supply a novel medicine to patients in need worldwide.
Working in a science and technology driven development department, you will also be part in developing new (production) technologies and implementing those in your projects - in a global network with internal and external partners. Tasks & responsibilities- In your new role, you will lead a development laboratory.
- You will be responsible for the bioprocess development (CMC) of biologics, considering internal (e.g., timelines, budget, quality, robustness, performance, scalability) and external requirements (e.g., GMP, regulatory / legal requirements).
- You represent the department in global Research & Development teams, in internal and external projects and lead subteams.
- The fulfillment of complex tasks and the development of new solutions in technology projects is also part of your role.
- The documentation (e.g., publications, patents) and the associated participation in strategic topics further extends your profile.
Requirements - PhD in biotechnological, (bio)chemical engineering, or pharmaceutical field with several years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, completed master’s degree with long-time professional experience in an international environment
- Relevant experience in industrial (bioprocess) development, especially of pharmaceuticals, is required, as well as very good scientific knowledge and technical expertise in the field of bioprocess development
- Several years of experience in personnel management or project management in matrix functions
- Strong and adapted communication skills, in varying internal and external (external project partners, authorities, conferences) context
- Very independent, well-founded, and responsible way of working, solution-oriented thinking and flexibility in a changing business environment
- Very high level of initiative and team spirit, decision orientation, motivation
- Strategic understanding and basic market/business knowledge
- Fluent in German and English
