As Commodity Manager Electronics you will be in charge of creating competitive advantage for DRÄXLMAIER as we further accelerate our growth in electronics offerings across our business segments.
The role is embedded into the Purchasing organization that covers DRÄXLMAIER’s e-Mobility activities. This team also drives Electronics commodity management across the global DRÄXLMAIER portfolio in vehicle architectures, interior solutions and e-mobility.
As Commodity Manager Electronics you will be responsible to develop and implement world-class commodity strategies within the portfolio, align these with cross-functional stakeholders and continuously challenge and develop the portfolio and supplier panel to unlock competitive advantages for the business. You will be in charge of covering the commodities of Microcontrollers, Power, Memory and Network related ICs. The Commodity Manager will provide guidance to a team of commodity buyers covering the relevant component portfolio and report to the Head of Purchasing Electronics.
The role will require relevant industry and component know-how and an active network with decision makers. A successful candidate will possess an understanding of best-in-class sourcing strategies specific to the portfolio. In close alignment with relevant business stakeholders you will establish a competitive component portfolio across its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities- Manage the component portfolio and strategic purchasing activities related to electronic components in the Compute/Network commodity space across their lifecycle
- Shape the future of mobility driving best in class competitiveness of our Battery, Components, Interior and Distribution systems
- Lead improvement initiatives in the acquisition and project development stages by defining the best commercial and most technically advanced supplier solutions
- Identify cost reduction measures within the portfolio and implement together with a cross-functional team
- Manage the commodity strategy for the portfolio and ensure appropriate measures are identified and implemented to drive the performance to top quartile levels applying specific commodity levers
- Lead innovation scouting for new technological solutions and innovative new players to continuously challenge the status quo
- Lead key contract negotiations and annual negotiations across the supplier panel and ensure compliance with all strategic objectives
- Provide guidance to commodity buying team and support development of buying team
Requirements - Academic degree in Business or Engineering or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience purchasing in a high pressure environment, preferably in the automotive industry
- Deep understanding of the electronic components industry, its technologies and associated best practices
- Existing network with key decision makers on supplier level
- Track record of driving cost improvement opportunities
- Very good negotiation skills and strategic mindset
- You are passionate about your work and have a can-do attitude
- High affinity for numbers and highly analytical
- Fluent English and German mandatory
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office tools
