For the new RailCampus OWL emerging in Minden we are looking for a

Shaping the future of HARTING, actively!

As a "Director Innovation Hub" you will be responsible for orchestrating and directing a small team of innovation-focused engineers, scientists and project managers affiliated to the RailCampus OWL. Our mission is to develop ideas for new products and services, engaging with customers and partners, and even seeking out funding and joint venture opportunities in the railway sector to create new value streams for HARTING that encompass new products, services and business models. Deliverables are prototypes with increasing maturity level. You will grow and support the team over the long term by seeking out such opportunities and leveraging the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region, and even domestically and internationally.

• Encourage new ideas and concept beyond current products and business & set up and cultivates methods and tools for an efficient and effective working mode
• Actively seek out opportunities to support the activities of your team through projects, partnerships, external funding, and other mechanisms
• Enabling the team to successfully develop new ideas up to an advanced prototype level in collaboration with customers and partners
• Leading and continuously developing a team of innovation-focused scientists, engineers and project managers to co-create with external partners
• Set goals and expectations for the Innovation Hub and external partners
• Manage the daily work of the innovation hub and its projects

• Master’s degree or Ph.D in a technical direction
• Experience in leading a team in a product design and development environment
• High affinity and interest in the railroad industry
• Ability to forge strategic partnerships with a wide variety of technical and investor stakeholders; Fundraising and pitching skills in an entrepreneurial environment
• Technical business development skills to sell new projects, products, or services
• Excellent business and organizational skills including budgeting, program management, etc.
• Very good language skills in German and English
• Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills
