Job Description- Evaluation and establishment of in silico protein structure model generation for different molecule classes, especially for antibodies, antibody-derived and other therapeutic proteins
- Involvement in the design and implementation of algorithms to interloop protein property information and purification process behavior
- Evaluation of innovative methodologies to contribute to the ultimate goal of building in silico DSP designs based on amino acid sequences only
- Design and development of scalable downstream processes from bench to commercial scale
- Transfer of customer downstream processes to the Rentschler process format
These responsibilities will be assumed by actively carrying out and managing the following tasks:- Scientific collaboration with process development colleagues in the development of downstream processes enabling subsequent GMP production
- Scientific collaboration with external process development partners and internal data science experts in the development of new machine learning and hybrid modeling approaches in DSP development
- Cooperative communication, representation, and technical discussion with our customers in “face-to-face meetings”, conference calls, etc.
- Technical supervision of lab technicians and engineers in DSP development
- Subject matter expert in an interdisciplinary and cross-functional team with colleagues from manufacturing science and technology, data science unit, upstream process development, and regulatory affairs
- Participate in innovation and internal projects for driving progress of the group / company
- Review relevant chapters of CMC dossiers (IND/IMPD and BLA/MAA)
Requirements - Deep knowledge in protein structure modelling of biomolecules e. g. by AlphaFold2 or comparable applications (e. g. YASARA, MOE, Modeller, H ), machine learning (e. g. via QSAR-based approaches) and molecular dynamic simulation
- Scientific education and understanding of protein chemistry, chromatographic processes, filtration techniques and biophysical methods
- Good knowledge in one of the following programming languages: Python, R (or equivalent also Matlab, Octave, C).
- Basic knowledge in code versioning e. g. git and reproducibility best practices for scientific programming.
- Basic knowledge working with databases (SQL based as well as accessing REST-APIs).
- Strong and collaborative communication skills, team spirit, flexibility and outcome-oriented working
- High level of personal initiative and organizing skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset, economic and analytical thinking
- Fluent in German and English
