Location/Division Specific Information

Patheon Regensburg is a GMP production site, focused on custom manufacturing of investigational materials for pre-clinical and clinical studies. The size of the site offers a familiar, friendly and collegiate atmosphere that specializes in the combined strengths of high-end R&D and production.

• You will be responsible for the safe, timely and successful development of chemical process to be implemented in Regensburg’s Pilot Plant. In addition, you will deal with the strategic growth of the development group through talent development, CAPEX investment in infrastructure, improvement of safety concepts, and improved workflows through PPI
• You will report to the Site Director/GM, or delegate. Key partner interactions will include all members RnD Team, the Site Leadership Team, Site GM, API Business Managers and Intercompany colleagues.
• Responsible for safety in R+D laboratories, laboratory infrastructure, and maintenance to ensure safe and efficient workflows
• Leadership, motivation, and development of an effective team through mentoring and training on both technical as well as general managerial skills, such as project management, time management and resource utilization
• Budgeting, leading and deploying resources successfully and efficiently to meet our Client’s needs
• Operational alignment and reporting with/to Quality, Finance, Business and Production
• Providing scientific mentorship and leadership to employees and their teams
• Key clients contact for business meetings, issue resolution, and business development
• Ensure general compliance with all relevant internal as well as external legal rules and regulations, especially regarding job safety, accident prevention, quality, health, security, data, and environmental protection

Keys to Success:

Education

• PhD in organic chemistry, or related field

Experience

• Multi-year experience in the chemical service business, preferably in a CDMO environment
• Strong project management, resource management and organization skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Consistent record with leadership and organizational change
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Professional proficiency in German and English (written and spoken).
